Welcome to I M // UR

The world is crazy. Christel and I met in completely different positions than we are in now. I was in a band - a bad one if you ask me - and she was interviewing me for the Brazilian edition of Amelia's Magazine. It was her virgin time in Brazil and my first time giving an international interview. Since then, the band split up, Christel moved on to a different mag ('Sup Mag), and she's come to visit me twice more in Brazil - she even met my parents - and we've become best friends.

Now we are not only bff's, but also partners for life. Late one night we decided to create our very own site because we realised that we both needed more outlets to express how we feel about music, arts, fashion and as well as other stupid random stuff (you can find that in the ETC section of the site). And to celebrate the concept we had created, we decided to have a party.

So IM // A \\ PARTY was born...

But we didn't want to have just any old party; we wanted to go one step further. So we decided to throw parties only when we managed to get international acts to come to Brazil. Two weeks later (it was late September '08) we had our first edition with the incredible French singer Yelle. The lineup was also graced with Tepr, Database, Gil Barbara and Funhell DJs doing DJ sets.

Although the response we had to the party was amazing, we decided only to have another party when we had the blog up. So yeah, here you are at the blog, which means that the second edition - the synth pop one - is coming soon (the 4th of April to be precise). We'll update you with all the details verrry soon.

Meanwhile check out our first day and keep coming back for more.  For this week we've lined up interviews with musicians WhoMadeWho, Micachu, Kap Bambino, Deep Red, Bag Raiders and MiamiHorror, the British artist Jayne Helliwell (who did our lovely layout and first flier) and the French hair designer Charlie Le Mindu.

Our objective is not only to celebrate great new stuff, but also to be a part of it. And we're working our asses off to get it all done. Welcome to I M // U R.

Special Thanks to the awesome Gil Barbara who made sure all this crazy new technology was/is working for us and Jayne Helliwell for the beautiful drawings.  <3
