It has been a big week for Passion Pit. They just released their video for the song 'The Reeling', which has been praised as one of the best singles of the year so far, then their recording sessions video at The Fader went viral and everybody checked the kids choir doing the backing vocal for some of their new songs. And now they are throwing up another remix competition. And it's for a new song!
SAY HELLO TO 'LITTLE SECRETS'
If you watched the video of the band recording with the choir, you might have noticed that some parts that the kids sang wasn't used for 'The Reeling'. That's because they went to 'Little Secrets' - the third song from their debut album, Manners. The song is not as big a hit as 'The Reeling', but it's delicious in its pop glory, like a fresh mix of synth-pop and indie - and as you suppose, the kiddies make all the difference on the track!
REMIX COMPETITION
And for all the producers out there who think that they can turn 'Little Secrets' into a better song (or just into a different one), the American quintet are giving out the individual files of the track. Then on the May 15th it goes to the fans, who will choose their favorite 10 remixes. And on the 22nd, Passion Pit themselves will choose their 5 favorite from the 10.
The five lucky producers will have their remixes released on vinyl for the next Passion Pit single and their remixes will be included on the band's Myspace player for the month of June. And of course, the entire top 10 will get some free signed copies of Manners. Don't forget to check the rules here before submitting remixes.
