Oh, Passion Pit. I feel that I can't talk about you anymore, but I already said those three little words about your debut album some time ago and now I will follow you everywhere until you get fat or start becoming jealous of my male friends...But as we're in the honeymoon phase I'm still dazed by your moves and impressed by everything you are part of. Your auto-remix of the summer anthem 'The Reeling' is no exception.
Shuttle is the cover name for Passion Pit's drummer Nate Donmoyer and he is taking the soft pop of 'The Reeling' to 'Super Club Mega Mix '99'. The remix starts with baile-funk flavored beats, then dusty synths are added (dated, as the name of the remix suggests, from '99), some digital claps and, of course, the sweet vocals from Michael Angelakos get the robot treatment. This non-ironic banging piece of music is aiming for all the club kids out there, but as soon as you get home, go and listen instead, to something quieter and better, like Manners.
