First of all, the cover above for Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 'Heads Will Roll' single has to be one of the coolest of the year. Secondly, we already posted the Michael-Jackson-as-a-dancing-wolf video which is also really cool (seriously, go watch it). So what's missing? The remixes, of course!
The Brooklyn trio are heavily remixing every new release from their third album It's Blitz! and chose the heavily hyped Passion Pit to retouch 'Heads Will Roll' with different synths. Unfortunately for us, Passion Pit chose synths that don't really belong to them and made a souless remix with the most predictable lines ever.
But no worries, Weird Tapes will show you how to inject your personality into a remix with their version. The unique blend of synths, feels and textures are not meant to be for dancefloors but will surely find a place in your thematic mixtapes. Although much better than Passion Pit's, the Weird Tapes version seems a bit out of sync at some moments.
Now will Yeah Yeah Yeahs release a more danceable mix of this song? There is still hope in the remixes from Tommie Sunshine, Little Vampire (aka Nick Zinner), James Iha that are going to be released on the 14th of July.
