The Rumble Strips are back with another album, Welcome To The Walk Alone. Mark Ronson offered to produce them after the band covered Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black'. Later, Mark was quoted saying that both he and Amy agreed that the Rumble Strips' version was better than Amy's - I think I also agree with them on that one.
So Mr. Ronson, who was just voted the 'Britain's Best Dressed Male' according to a new poll by GQ Magazine, has been working his magic on the band for the past year and now we have a taste of their sessions. So their new track is called 'London' and as opposed to their dramatic remix of Winehouse, it's a upbeat dance number from the band.
Welcome To The Walk Alone was initially recorded in the traditional New York studio Avatar Studios (The Power Station), with the vocals added later in London and orchestration composed in Prague by the amazing Owen Pallett (Final Fantasy, Arcade Fire). I hope it will sound as good as it looks on paper.
