When Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur's latest EP entitled 'Household Goods', dropped into my inbox I literally squealed with delight. TEED have been a mainstay as one of my favourite projects from the UK, and deservedly so; consistently pushing out ridiculous tracks that blow my tiny mind and making remixes that boggle it.
It's so funny that such a mild, almost benign looking kid incongruously named Orlando Higginbottom could produce such choons and remixes that are intelligent, subtly seductive as well as able to make bangers to boot. A fantastic example is his last insiduously brilliant single, 'Garden'. The latest track, taken of the self titled EP 'Household Goods' is the next evolution of 'Garden'.
'Household Goods' comes on strong with more aggression in the instrumentation and is also more lyrically sharp than I remember Higginbottom being in the past, with plainly stated longing both in melody and word. It also brings to mind Lo-Fi-Fnk feelings in it's staticky synths.
The video sees his sport a head piece that suggest a triceratops of some sort; with spines going down the back of a neatly tailored aqua blue boiler suit (?). It's utterly adorable to watch and utterly addictive to listen to. Check it, and GO GET THE EP!!! From HERE and HERE
